Parting with collectibles can be difficult. Maybe you spent years building up a collection, or maybe it holds real sentimental value. We understand that — we've all been bitten by the collecting bug too.

Big B Comics has built a 30-year reputation on fairness and honesty. As one of the leading dealers of collectible comics in Southwestern Ontario, we know the market inside and out — not just online asking prices, but what items actually sell for in a retail environment.

In most cases, we buy with the intent to resell. That means our offers are based on condition, demand, space, and what allows us to keep operating responsibly as a brick-and-mortar store (with staff, overhead, and a whole lot of bins).

What we're actively buying

Comics

  • CGC graded comics
  • Key issues & minor keys (generally ~$10 value and up)
We're extremely picky about bulk modern comics and low-value filler. If most of your collection falls into dollar-bin or $2.99 territory, we may not be able to take it.

Toys & collectibles

  • DC & Marvel action figures — loose or boxed. These sell all day, every day.
  • Transformers — robots in disguise, always in demand.
  • Vintage figures, vehicles, and playsets
Marvel Legends wanted. We can't keep them on the shelf. If you have a lot sitting in a closet, bring it in.

Graphic novels

  • 10% cash
  • 20% store credit
  • Based on US cover price
  • Softcovers or hardcovers — we also take manga

What we're not buying

Video games & systems

We do not buy video games or gaming systems. This category was discontinued prior to COVID and is no longer part of our buying program.

Cards (sports / Pokémon / Magic / etc.)

We're not buying cards right now. We'd like to expand into this category in the future, but until we have dedicated in-house expertise, we'd rather not buy something we can't properly evaluate.

Funko Pops

We do not buy Funko Pops. We have enough of our own. But thank you.

How pricing works

Big B Comics buys in order to resell in-store and online, which means our offers have to leave room for grading fees, processing, overhead, and the risk of holding inventory.

We don't buy at full market value. We sell at market value — so our purchase offers need to leave room for fees, labour, and the reality that not every item sells quickly.
  • CGC comics & toys: ~40% of expected retail value
  • Graphic novels: 10% cash / 20% store credit, based on US cover price
  • Store credit offers will always be higher than cash
