Series starts as a monthly, but the 38 issues end up taking over 7 years to come out, presumably at least partly because of the wait for the final volume's release. On sale date from Amazing Heroes #139.

  • Akira & Otomo - Text piece on the history of Akira, and some background on the American adaptation process. Mentions that the still-unfinished Japanese series will span 5 volumes and 1800 pages (it ends up at 6 volumes and 2200 pages).
