An American soldier being tracked by his footprints in the desert takes out an enemy sniper, a half-track, and an enemy pilot, but when a sandstorm wipes out his footprints he loses any hope of his unit finding him. Luckily his unit can trace him by the "kayo trail" he leaves behind.

A soldier wishes he could be a pilot like his brother Phil, but he is stuck on the ground, providing transportation for parachutists. When an enemy plane cripples Phil's plane, and he has to jump, his brother, knowing Phil isn't prepared to fight as he falls, provides the support he needs.

Eddie and Burt have been separated from Easy Company, and in trying to rejoin their buddies find out that Easy is trapped in a "pocket," surrounded by enemy tanks.
