Big B Comics has built a 30-year reputation for fairness and honesty. As one of the leading dealers of collectible comics in Southwestern Ontario, we know the market inside and out — not just online asking prices, but what items actually sell for in a retail environment.

We buy with the intent to resell. That means our offers are based on condition, demand, space, and what allows us to continue operating responsibly as a brick-and-mortar business.

What we’re actively buying

🟢 Comics

  • CGC graded comics
  • Key issues & minor keys (generally ~$10 value and up)
  • Collections with clear resale potential
We are extremely limited on bulk modern comics and low-value filler. We maintain a large warehouse for $2.99 books and are often at capacity. If most of your collection would fall into dollar-bin or $2.99 territory, we may not be able to take it.

🟢 Toys & Collectibles

  • DC & Marvel toys (loose or boxed)
  • Marvel Legends (always in demand)
  • Vintage and modern figures, vehicles, and playsets
If it’s DC or Marvel, we want to see it.

🟢 Graphic Novels

  • 10% cash
  • 15% store credit
  • Based on US cover price
  • Softcovers only (very limited manga)

What we’re limited on or not buying

❌ Video games & systems

We do not buy video games or gaming systems. This category was discontinued prior to COVID and is no longer part of our buying program.

⚠️ Bulk modern comics

  • Modern commons
  • Overproduced 1990s–2000s comics
  • Large runs with minimal key content
Space matters. If we can’t realistically sell it, we can’t responsibly buy it.

❌ Cards (Sports / Pokémon / Magic / etc.)

At this time, we are not actively buying cards. We’re interested in expanding into this category in the future, but until we have dedicated in-house expertise, we prefer not to buy something we can’t properly evaluate.

How pricing works

Big B Comics is a retail business, not an online marketplace or auction site. We buy items with the intent to resell them — and that means our offers must leave room for the business to operate.

We do not pay market value. We are the market — we have to sell items at that price.
  • CGC comics & toys: ~40% of expected retail value
  • Graphic novels: fixed percentages
  • Cash offers are lower than store credit
